Dr. Brenner has been working in natural resource management for 38 years, he has spent the last 23 years working in the geospatial industry matching remotely sensed technologies and geospatial tools to solve real world problems. He is Director of Government Geospatial Growth Initiatives at NV5 Geospatial. Through his leadership, NV5G has developed a robust forestry and water program covering all aspects of these domains. His experience covers project design and management, ranging from national lidar and imagery data acquisition programs to deriving statewide hydrography and land cover. He works not just on data acquisition and processing but supports the design of enterprise GIS systems from small organizations to state and federal agencies. He has led projects on landscape mapping, hydrography development, wetland mapping, forest inventory, watershed modeling, wildlife species habitat assessment, wildfire risk assessments, and forest health. Andrew’s landscape mapping work has involved feature extraction from local ecological alliances to federal mapping programs such as the National Land Cover Dataset (NLCD) for USGS, and the Coastal Change Analysis Program (C-CAP) for NOAA. Andrew also oversees NV5G teams that provide analytical services through the cloud using machine learning technologies.
